Was at the rugby game on Sat and saw a lad using his ipod nano as radio for the match, question is how do you do this? he could go up and down the frequencies.I had a look in the menus but can't seem to find the option.

Latest model has FM radio. The last inline remote had an FM radio that - worked with iPod (classic) and nano - built into it as well.

Apple store is down at the moment, so I can't provide a link, but you can get an Apple remote with a built in radio tuner. When you connect it to your iPod, you get a radio interface on the screen. He must have had that if he didn't have the current Nano with the built-in radio. The radio remote doesn't let you pause radio the way the built-in one does. It comes with standard white Apple headphones, but you can use any headphones with it.

Edit: Here's a link to it on Amazon:

I have that tuner and works great with older classic ipods / nanos. Unfortunately it doesnt work with iPhone or iTouch devices like some other peripherals I have stashed away.

I was surprised to find there was free wifi in Croke Park so opened up the RTE Radio 1 internet radio app on my iPhone. Worked perfectly, only problem was commentary was about 15 seconds behind live play. Very disconcerting - turned it off after a few minutes.

My girlfriend's birthday is on Friday and I want to get her a radio remote for either her iPod Touch of her iPhone 3GS.

I've left it too late to get it online. Does anyone know where I might be able to get one around Cork?

I'd say Argos is your best bet but didn't they say above that the FM radio function doesn't work on those? Might as well get, or use if you have them, the headphones with the clicky buttons on the right wire. I know Sony do a great pair for €40 with the iPod controls as well, also at Argos.

    This too shall pass.

Cheers for the reply but it's not really the remote part she's interested in, more the radio. I got one in HMV but it doesn't work with the iPhone or the iPod touch.

    The search goes on...
