Missed my first payment cos I didn't receive letter

    Hello all,
    I had been waiting for JSB since around Christmas and have been ringing the welfare office a few times to see how much longer it would take.
    I got through today and was told that my first payment (5 weeks worth) had been sitting in the post office for a week and was sent back because I didn't collect it. The problem is that I never received the letter to tell me it was there ready to be collected! Our postman is brutal, he is always giving us post from other addresses and I'm guessing my post ended up at someone else's house- god knows whose. The girl in the post office said she would re-enter it in the system and she gave me a reference number for it, to give to the welfare office.
    It's over a grand so I really need to get this money- will they believe me that I just didn't get the letter?
