Michael Jackson's former doctor has been charged with involuntary manslaughter by prosecutors in Los Angeles, it has been confirmed.

Dr Conrad Murray is expected to deny the charges in court later. He faces up to four years in prison if convicted.

Photographers and news cameras have begun to gather at the Los Angeles International Airport Courthouse in anticipation of his appearance.

Jackson died at his home last June at the age of 50.

His death was ruled as homicide, mainly caused by the anaesthetic Propofol.

A cocktail of drugs - including sedatives Midazolam and Diazepam, the painkiller Lidocaine and the stimulant Ephedrine - were also detected in his body, a coroner confirmed.

The prosecutors allege that Dr Murray "did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson".

Members of Michael Jackson's family have gone to the court where Dr Murray is expected to arrive shortly

This should be interesting, I'd say there are a lot of other celeb doctors watching this.

Wasn't drugs one of the causes of Brittany Murphy's death too along with her being ill.(Correct me if im wrong though) Wonder will her doctor be up for the same thing?

    Proper order.

Administering your patient regularly with drugs that are meant only for General Anesthesia and ones that are supposed to be used in hospitals under strict supervision is a fcuking disgrace to be fair.

was Jacko cremated or buried ??

well, if buried, and if they have to exhume the body, another autopsy wont be so bad, last time I checked, plastic doesn't decompose :pac:

If there's any evidence that her doctor was administering drugs wrongfully for cash, then yes I'd imagine there would be an investigation there.

This doctor was allegedly abusing his powers as a doctor to prescribe and administer a lot of heavy prescription drugs at the request of someone paying a lot of cash for his services. Whether there's intent or not (which I'd doubt there was) to kill, if he is found guilty it was completely irresponsible and resulted in someone's death. In the case he is found guilty the charges and any jail time are deserved. He's not just a scapegoat.

No. It's called manslaughter regardless of the gender of the victim.
    Also, Michael Jackson was male.

Ironically, it's hilarious just how void of humor some of these jokes are. An oxymoron.

    What's your problem?

You wanna be startin something? There's no need to be like that. You know, I've been Working day and night here and I can't help it if I just wanted to have a laugh. If you don't like it, you should just beat it. After all, isn't it Human Nature to have a laugh? Its not as black or white as you make out you know. Man I could just scream cos you've upset me now. Then I suppose you are not alone in that respect.

On second thought, why don't you just leave me alone

Ok, enough of this monkey business:D:D:D

As a mod of the creative writing forum, I thought you would be more tolerant of drugs.

Besides, I take drugs.. And I'm not an idiot.

Why blame it on the doctor? Surely they should blame it on the sunshine, blame it on the moonlight, blame it on the good times and blame it on the boogie?

I'd like to point out that (to my knowledge) plastic surgery generally doesn't involve any plastic (of the long-chain polymer kind that it). The word plastic in it's most literal form means to mould or shape something. So all these endless Michael Jackson jokes over the past 30 years involving melting and lack of decomposition don't really make sense.

Oh yeah, and the regarding the charges againt Dr Murray he's clearly a smooth criminal if he can beat it. Either way the court case is sure to be a thriller etc. Sch-mon. Hee-heh. *crotch grab*

Dunno about that. Sure it could feel real good and make a difference (it could even make it right) but at the end of the day drug dealers will always be in demand in prison.

The doctor can probably plead justification.
