Can anybody advise on booking a honeymoon in St Lucia for the first 10 days in August. We are really worried about the hurricane season so if anybody has done the Carribian this time of year your advice would be much appreciated!

Your best bet is to check out TripAdvisor for holidays in August in St Lucia. Also, St Lucia gets the most rain of all the caribbean islands (hence why it's so lush and green) and it's rainy season there in August.

Oh lucky you! We had our honeymoon from 7th to 17th August MANY years ago and saw no hurricanes at all. We had a few light showers but because it was so hot, everything dried up more or less straight away.

The only bad time was near the end of the holiday when we got caught in a monsoon on a trip to the Picons. The rain came down in buckets and totally destroyed our camera because we didn't have it in a case - idiots!

Other than that, had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it. We keep meaning to go back but life gets in the way :(

BTW if you get a chance to go to the Grenadines on a day trip - do it!!!! It's not the cheapest thing you might do, but it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and it's the most wonderful place on earth.

    Enjoy...:)
