    hi everyone, a couple of my friends are going to australia for 9 weeks during the summer ( the start of june to the start of august) there renting out a campervan and travelling from adelaide up to cairns i think, its going to cost a lot for me to go and i heard that the months there thinking of going is australias winter would it be worth going if this is the case?

    ye maybe start in cairns and move your way down! Most of the best stuff is in Queensland anyway.

    Can be hit and miss...I had two weeks last June in Sydney, the Blue Mountains and went about 100K north to Brisbane Water National Park and the weather was very random. 15 degrees with rain and cloud one day, 20 degree heat the next. Plan for all eventualities, it will still be better weather then Ireland probably :)

    Cairns is always pretty warm AFAIK.

    thanks everyone, what do you think if we started in darwin then moved onto cairns and then down the coast? also is there any good websites out there with cheap flights? thanks

    www.statravel.com.au is pretty good for people under 26 yrs old.

    That would be a much better option, once you get lower than brisbane at that time of year its gonna be cold

    Even Brisbane is cold when your acclimatised to summer heat. I type this as I sit on the couch in my jocks with the air conditioning on.
