Back to education or student loan...

Hey all, a quick question for all of you in the know...

I'm 22years old and have an honours science degree related to construction. After spending the last 8 months torturing people all over the world for a job or internship and with the construction sector a mess I want to go into mechanical engineering and specialise in renewable energy eventually. At the moment I'm on JSA and have been since I finished college last summer and i'm currently not living at home.

What I want to get more info on is if I may be eligable for back to eduaction allowance since i'm gonna be 12 months on JSA come the summertime or if i can make my case to the social welfare even?

Also, I can't get a yes or no answer off anyone really about a student grant so any info on that would be a great help also!!

And before anyone has a go at me for coming out of college and straight onto the dole, I've had a job pretty much since I was 14 years old up until the end of 2008 and I cant get anything at all since then :)

    Thanks

Btea is normally not granted if you already have a degree, you'll have to convince the SWO that you need to do this.

If you got a grant for your degree, you won't get it again plus you'll have to pays fees - unless you are progressing ie. doing a masters or phd.

Citizensinformation.ie will have most of the information you need
