    Depends on your price...

Mallow Road Motors in Cork have a decent selection...

The big question is - whats the right price?

The right price is what i could bring a vat qualifying one in from the uk for, i would rather buy here tho save the trip over and converting it?

I think the hassle of buying a UK passenger, then converting it and making sure its VAT qualifying sounds like a lot of hassle IMO.

How much will it cost to convert one?

How much will it cost to land one here, including transport, and then conversion? I'd doubt its not that much cheaper compared to buying here.

Well it will cost a flight and a ferry 200 - 300 to get it home, then a grand tops to get it converted, not actually that much hassle.

But the only one's here that come close on price are bog standard with no sat nav and even at that are still slightly dearer.

I think there is great deals on new ml's on carzone, but none of them have sat nav

Is a Q7/X5 a Cat B vehicle, or does it qualify for €50 VRT?

Why not just buy a sat nav? is it really that important to have it built in?
Should be a RR Sport your looking at in that case too - they had Nav as standard on the SE upwards.

Except would you really want the hassle of a RR Sport? One of the lads has had the following all swapped out under warranty:

    - ball joints & tie rods
    - steering rack
    - fuel pump
    - brake servo
    - 4 x 20' alloy wheels

It hasn't even got 40k miles on it yet!

I would agree though that a stand alone Garmin is better than Audi or BMW can offer.

I know. I've had similar experiences with one. But, the man said he wants a commercial luxury 4x4 with built in Sat-Nav - the RR Sport is the only one that had it as standard.

Good question about the €50 vrt if anyone can enlighten me? I presume so as i thought it was only short wheel base that didnt qualify?

I have a sat nav but i would use it a lot and its just much tidier built in.

Iv had a range rover sport before just out of a garage while my own car was being fixed, a 2.7 HSE, wouldnt pull a hen off its knee's,didnt like it at all and i imagine the 3.6 would be an animal on juice?

Ah but would he have to bring it back in to get the Sat Nav swapped out when it broke! :D
There are lots of commercial x5 on Carzone at the minute, I was thinking of getting a passenger one next but the commercials keep popping up getting in my way, even when I filter them out.

You should check all of the vehicles to see what VRT cat they fall into. A quick call to a dealer should answer your question.
