String Quartet/Trio for Church

    Hi All!

Just wondering can anyone recommend a string quartet or trio for playing in the church? We have a family member lined up to be our organist, however he's living in Australia, and has recently lost his job, so there's now a question mark over whether or not he'll be able to make it back for the wedding. He's advised us to book some church musicians, and if he's able to make it back, he'll play me up the aisle :) And the group can do the rest, which will be nice, cos there'll be a mix.

Does anyone know of a good group? We'll be mainly looking for classical but would like them to be versatile, there's one or two songs which we'd like to have a led zepplin song, but we're not sure if the church will allow it. Also, any ideas how much I should expect to pay for it? We're planning to have the wedding service, but not mass, if that makes any odds.

Thanks in advance for any responses :) (and apologies for the slightly incoherent post, I'm really tired!)

    Hiya

we heard the Kinvara Trio at my cousins wedding last year and loved them so much we booked them for our own this year. They were brilliant, can't wait to hear them for our own mass

Thanks guys, would anyone mind me asking what they cost? If you don't want to say on thread, a PM would be great. I'm trying to tweak the budget and some people I've talked to said that these type of groups can cost over €1000!! Is that true???

hi, we have picked Mimosa trio - they will travel country wide. We met them this week and it was lovely - they played a sample of all the songs we are looking to have. I don't know how to PM but you can PM me if that helps, I don't want to post their price publically. I am sure they charge according to location also but they are very reasonable and not euro1000 !

    Hi There,
I play in a string quartet.

We're all music students in DIT so we can offer a better deal than most of the ''professional'' quartets!

We play anything from classical to contempory but to be honest, most churches can be quite strict on what music they allow.

We've played at numerous weddings and receptions before so we're very experienced.

Send me a PM iif you're interested and i can give you a quote!
