I'm research staff in DCU and looking to join a club/society/class or something to keep me occupied. Can I join any of the above being staff? Also, what do people recommend I join?

You can definitly be in the clubs and socs, what kind of stuff are you into?

Join handball! If not the Canoe club is class as well, just join an active club!

I go to the gym and want to be more active but I'm not a jock or in anyway fit (getting there.) I play guitar but am semi-amateur.

The only way to hone your guitar skills is to join Games Soc. Rock Band Beatles! We also won Best Society in DCU Last year too. :D

I'm PRO of Strange Things so I'll recommend that :P.

    It's the sci-fi/fantasy soc, although I haven't really seen much fantasy >.>.
We mainly show films, usually weekly on a Tuesday evening, there could be cinema trips or trips to conventions too, mainly depending on level of interest, it's currently a quite small society.
Always desparate for on the lookout for ideas if you wanted to suggest some or bring your own)

You're overestimating the standard of fitness of college level players!

    Hi,

hope to come to DCU as a mature(ish!) research student over next mth or so and was just wondering if there is an active Ladies Soccer team in DCU. Would love to join up but can't locate up-to-date site :) Also can you join a club so late in the academic year (even if only to train?!)

    Tks a mill,

I have to throw in a good word about the BRAND NEW DCU Paranormal Society. We've got loads of events set up for this semester, look us up on Facebook for details.

And no, we are NOT the same as Strange Things. We are about the supposed fact behind the fiction. And we have nicer hair.

Anybody know if there is a clubs/soc day for this semester?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

Yep I got an email about "refreshers day"
For anyone who feels that they didn’t join enough societies the first time round, Clubs and Societies Re-Freshers day is happening this Wednesday 17th February. Clubs and societies will have stands in the Hub from about 11am to 3pm and members can register for Semester Two for a reduced price of €2. Sure ye may as well.

Just so you know, not all clubs set a stand up. If you really want to join a club, send them an email (If they can't reply they're prob not worth joining!)
