Does anybody know if a door to door sales position for Airtricity pays a basic wage or is it only commission?

    Hi,

I was supposed to do this a couple of weeks ago. Did all the training for almost 2 weeks just to find out I'm not eligible to do it. First thing is, these people don't work for Airtricity, they work for a Marketing office which is under another company called Cobra PLC, Cobra is the company who gets the big clients like Airtricity, Eircom etc.. Cobra then gives the marketing office one of his clients & they take it from there.
So you will be called a Field Representative for Airtricity..
As for the payment, this work is only commission basis.. they set up specific rates for different numbers of sign-ups you get per week.. for example, if you sign-up 1-29 per week, you get paid 17euros each, but if you sign-up 30 or more per week, you get paid 21euros each. It's very good money, some people I know there earn 600-1300 a week.
Hope this helps. If you want to apply for something like that, try to look up ACT Marketing Direct or ROAR Promotions.. As I said, I don't work for them, I just want to help people find jobs.. totally great opportunity, unfortunately I can't work for them.

If it's Cobra just be careful and kow what you're getting into first.

Read up about them on www.scam.com, just Google that site and Cobra together.

Thanks guys. Supermangyan, do you know if you get paid for the 2 weeks training at all?

no I didn't, actually training won't take that long, It's just that I had problems with my paperwork. It was a shame that I didn't get paid considering I spent some money & time with them. I live quite far away from the office & I spent almost 3 hours of travel everyday.. some reps there started right away on their 3rd day, but that doesn't guarantee you getting paid because it is commission based, so you'll get paid when you get a sign-up.
for those who think it is a scam, that depends on your definition of a scam. but people do earn money with this type of business, but you have to work VERY hard.
One thing that I hate about it is the time they operate.. which is from 11am to 9pm, Monday-Friday.. which is quite long.. it'll be 60 hours per week.. so if you earn 500 a week, which is a good wage especially if you've been unemployed for 6 months or so, but considering the time you spent, it'll be very well below minimum wage. That's not worth the effort I think.. that's why I didn't pursue it. It's just not worth it.
I know I'm going against my original reply but it's up to you if you want to go through it. It's better than nothing anyway.. But I'd rather look for something else.
