    Hi everyone!

I am a beginner on the violin (but read music and play both classical piano and guitar).

Anyway my question is this. None of my friends share my interest in playing music, classical or otherwise.

Are there any online forums or music groups where you can meet people to share a hobby and perhaps start playing simple duets or otherwise.

BTW I am an adult beginner.

you could try on 8notes.com, it is a wolrdwide site, and very few Irish musicians are on it, in fact I only know of two others, but it caters for all levels, with a forum for each instrument also and plenty of free sheet music ranging from beginning levels to advanced!
Not quite what you are looking for, but step in the right direction I hope :)

    Thanks for the reply!

Pity there is no Irish forum.

Basically would love another adult beginner like me to play simple duets with etc.

You might be interested in my podcast, Classical Introductions, which provides links to free recordings of classical music, and discusses them in-show. The iTunes link is here, and you can subscribe via RSS through my blog, here.
