Funny you included Borthwick as I was just thinking (the man I love to hate) never had a better game for England! No room for "The Bull" - I'm sure I caught sight of him at least twice with the ball in hand which is not his traditional role? A great stalwart who must be on Duracell batteries - he just keeps going no matter what his detractors say. :D

    Armitage

    Armitage had a bad game.

The French hooker should be there,as should trin-duc, morgan parra, basteraux and Tait.

Martyn Willams, as ever, was tremendous and I'd have him in ahead of Wallace. The full backs were particularily poor at the weekend. I'd have Poitrenaud in for showing some deft hands at a couple of stages in the first half but lets hope the likes of Kearney seriously up their game.

    Agree on Armitage and Trinh-Duc.

    You're correct.

Why do you pick a team and then change it when someone offers an alternative opinion? Baffling tbh.

    Because nobody is perfect.

Thought Zanni had quite a good game. A much better game than Wallace IMO!

I thought Powell had his best game since 08 to be honest

Bastareaud is an outside centre a lot of people have him in at 12

Pretty mediocre opening weekend, would struggle to name fifteen who really stood out...but Harinordoquy looks great as does Easter/Moody, Poitrenaud looks to be in the form of his life (God help us) and how good was Leo Cullen for us yesterday? Danny care pretty good, Bastareaud looked promising though how he'll fare when he comes up against a defence/attack with a little more nous than the Scots remains to be seen. He comes out of the line way too early...I think BOD will fancy a step on him.....

Ah, it wasn't that bad - well I suppose it was actually - but apart from the French I thought ROG, Jonny Wilkinson, Borthwick, and Johnn Beattie for Scotland, James Hook for Wales all played well - anybody for 5-a-side? :D

Not sure I could name a standout 15. I will say though that both Borthwick for England and Hayes for us both put in performances I didn't think they were capable of (anymore). Christ the value of Hayes to our lineout is immense. Thought Lamont was good for Scotland, French back row looks very dangerous, Darcy showing signs of his best form. On the other side, that was not Kearney's first dodgy performance of the season, he needs to up his game big time as he'll be seeing a lot of ball next weekend.

When it comes to kicking the man is a freak. Agaisnt wales he looked like he wasnt even trying but the power he can generate in unbelieveable. They way he was kicking on saturday he would ahve blazed them over from inside his own half

His place kicking is imperious but his kicking out of hand has gone to pot. Not nearly the player he once was. Picking an attacking backline and having Wilkinson standing so deep was pointless. If Wales had played anyone other then Cooper they would have won that game.
