Do you want to expand on this - maybe mention the group or ask for opinions on anything? I'm not sure what the point of the thread is otherwise.

Well ,I suppose Im wanting to know if there are other writers out there who have joined a group. What is their experience been like? Does that clarify it ?

I've been in a few groups, and the standard does vary a lot. The important thing is honest feedback. I've been to a few groups where people read out their efforts and either nothing is said, or everything said MUST be positive. Which gives you a warm fuzzy feeling, but means that you never improve.

Good feedback can really sting at the time, but it can make the difference between something mediocre and something really good.

Don't worry about your standard right now, just work on improving it.
