    Hello All

Would anybody know what hanger I should use for a Shimano Sora rear derailleur? Mine has split, the poor derailleur is just hanging off the bike on the chain.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Paul

The type of hanger you'll need is frame specific, it doesn't matter if it's for a sora.

Yep - got it; it's a Giant frame and I just need the dropout. Looks like this one will do the trick; now I just have to find it in the shops.

very standard giant dropout that one. Any decent bikeshop should have em. Just bring in the broken and should have it.

Must be a common issue with these components?, happened to me, happily only less than a mile from home:)
I guess my less than small rear doesn't help matters:(
Hoping the bike shop 2moro has the part I need
By the sound of it, you are also a giant OCR4 owner???

Hit one or two shops - one of the major shops in Cork had it in stock - cost 20e
Seems like daylight robbery, whats a person to do, its that or lie in on Sunday?

    pay 20 euro ?

think my focus one is £20 so i think thats about the price of them (£15 actually)

    $21.99 on http://derailleurhanger.com/giant.htm

like you say pay up or dont have a bike

Amen to your last sentiment, however I only feel aggrieved in the context that the whole Sora rear derailleur retails for just over 20e, and this wee bracket is setting me back the same:mad:

Anyhow you get what you pay for with low end components
