How to find out if a man is wanted by Interpol?

    I've been curious about this for a while. Can interpol be contacted directly to find out if an individual is 'on the run'? An old class mate of mine is said to be a fugitive in the UK but personally I think it's simply a mean-spirit rumour aimed at blackening his family's name in the town. And it seems quite an easy issue to check into, but I wouldn't know which garda station dealt with him in the first place (before Interpol would have been contacted).

    Any thoughts on this matter would be appreciated!
