receiving 518khz and 490khz can this scanner do it?

    hi folks am trying to set up a backup navtex system on my boat, using a radio scanner and laptop. i have the icom ic-r5 scanner, can this pickup the frequencies, below is the spec of the scanner; ill a little unsure ...
    518khz and 490khz

    no it wont unfortunately you need a radio which will cover ssb modes and possibly even rtty mode but i believe ssb upper or lower should decode navtex or you

    ^ Ditto above. It doesn't cover that band, and all but the top of the range cover what you're looking for (SSB), a HF scanner might cover it but could cost between 400-800 Euro.
