HP Laptop not coming on

    When the laptop is turned on a few lights flash for a second or two and then nothing happens. Cant get the laptop to come on. It is plugged in so its not the battery. Anyone had similar problem?

    I had similar problem and that was faulty mobo. If you know how can you dismantled lap you can try clean mobo with "dust" ect. and check all cable connections if it doesn't help it means that the mobo is shot.

    It's look like graphic card or north bridge problem. It's need some precision soldering work.

    It's very common HP problems. Is it DV6000 or DV9000 model?

    No, its a HP Pavillion TX1000. It actually started working again for a week or so out of the blue, but just died again. Now when I turn it on the lights flash for a second or two and then nothing.

    I seems like the graphic card is down like I said earlier. It happens in all HP laptops. I can fix it if you want.
