Thinking of taking my young lad to Thomasland (Drayton Manor, Birmingham) for his 4th birthday in March. Planing on flying from Waterford to Birmingham.
Anyone been there before? Any comments?

    Thanks

I used to go every year as a child as I lived in England. I personally loved it but this was 20 years ago!

took my 4yr old last year specifically to Thomasland. he loved it and have to say so did my hubby. the rides were great fun, he met the fat controller and was speechless. he was able to go on all of the thomasland rides and was even able to go on a couple of the bigger rides in drayton manor also. we are planning on going back again this year - by demand:D
One tip is to book online, we saved quite a bit by doing that.
we ate in the jungle? restaurant near the zoo area and had pizza which was good value. we also stayed in a local travelodge which was closeby and decent enough value.

was wondering did you fly into Birmingham and if so is the airport far from Thomasland. Did you buy tickets for thomasland on-line or when you got there. My son is four in May so we are really looking forward to going as he is obsessed with Thomas. Any tips appreciated. Thanks.

we didn't fly we took the ferry as we had a month over in the uk, but I think that the airport is about 30mins from Drayton Manor. check out their website for more information on how to get there and ticket prices.

We booked on line as there is a discount by booking on line. we got there just before the park opened and thankfully didn't have to queue too much to get in. what I would say is that bring bottles of water and some snacks for in Thomasland as when we were there, there was nowhere other than the shop to get something and this was really expensive. Thomasland is seperated from the rest of the theme park and this ensures that the bigger kids don't spoil the fun of the smaller ones. My son loved all of it and now believes that Thomas is real (he's almost 5 now) and tells me his favourite bit was Cranky as you were pulled to the top and then dropped down. to be honest the only thing he didn't like was the rain - and even that didn't stop our fun.
