Anyone recommend a decent van rental company(for 1 day) to shift house stuff from Naas to Dundalk.Need a van large enough to fit a bed so prob a Ford Transit or similar.Tried vanrental.ie,got quote of €96,mileage limit of 200km,charge 7c per extra km!!Best price was Irish van rentals, eastlands car hire facility, dublin airport who quoted me €83 unlimited mileage.Never heard of them, has anybody used them? Those quotes all with companies insurance. Thanks

€83 seems very reasonable if you can get the job done in one day, make sure its the high roof Transit and not the semi high.

www.avisvans.ie are quoting €74 including VAT if you transfer your insurance for the day, on a Medium Wheelbase High Roof Van (about 3.3metres length in the back). 300km free for the day should get you from collection in Tallaght, to Naas, to Dundalk, back to Tallaght.

Shoots to €103 if you take their insurance so much better if you have insurance to transfer.

Yeh €83 seems quite good but just never heard of irish van rental before so slightly worried about using them.I'll suss out a few other sites.
Does anyone know if its easy to switch insurance for the day to a van?do they charge a fortune?I'm with Royal Sun Alliance so I'll ring on Mon.

i hired a van 2 weekends in a row there, theres supposed to be a 50 charge for transferring your insurance with axa anyhow, and you must have fully comp, cost me 200 for 3 days last weekend for the van with own insurance and 160kms limit per day, was the opel movano big yoke too.

Just got a quote from malone car rental, old airport road,Ford transit or similar with insurance €59.78,without €31.28!They use Thrifty who I've heard of so it seems a good deal.Unlimited mileage also but have an excess of €1300 if I take their insurance. But they all seem to have that.Anyone use Thrifty before?
