If you have had the gun for some time, the hop up may be worn out, and if so, should be replaced

    What model of gun?
    How old is it?
    Aprox number of rounds fired?
is the hopup stock or replacement?

The unit may just be broken or have sliped the ajustment system which can happen on some, that, or as JDR said, if its old, it may be worn

8 months, recently upgraded with a few stuff which included a systema hop up, 12000-14000 rounds id guess.

If its sliped how would i go about fixing it ?
    cheers

Open up the hop chamber and make sure the bucking is in place properly.

Take it out and check its all seated ok, sometimes the barrel can twist in the hop and block the ajustment :) What gun? guessing by systema hop... m4?

whats the rubber and how old is that? or is the rubber systema and hop something else?

take it apart, check its together right out of the gun, then ajust it and look down the barrel to see if the nub moves.

The bucking will be flat against the rubber and level with the walls of the chamber.

Does the wheel that you use to adjust it feel any more tight or loose than it did when it worked? it might be that the cogs that make up that adjustment system are knackered or it could even be that the circlips holding them in place are loose and allowing them to jump the teeth as you adjust the wheel. got any pics of the parts that are giving you trouble?
