I got injured at work and had to be taken to the hospital (circa 4weeks ago)
where i stayed for 5days and underwent 2operations.

I've been in continious employment for 33years and have always paid all my taxes etc.

Yesterday I got a bill from the hospital for my bed charges- I was told my PRSI contributions would pay for this (by social welfare dept) but the hospital says that they dont?

Has anyone got an answer for me?
What do I do in this situation?

my company is paying for the bills- but im not claiming.
What I want to know is WHY am I paying through the nose for PRSI when it covers none of my costs if I have an accident?
