    Hey guys

I've gotten into writing poetry [which will probably become songs if i get my way] and i've always had an interest in art.

I was just wondering if there's a decent free blogging site that allows photo uploads, video embedding, and mp3 uploading would be a big bonus but by far not a disqualifying factor.

The biggest thing though would be a very easy to navigate archive system if such a thing exists.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

I posted the below response in another thread. A person had asked the same question. Answer: look at Blogger or WordPress - both free.

Hey, the two most popular free blog sites are Blogger (run by Google) and WordPress. If you already have a Google account (gmail or something) I would recommend trying that first. Just go to Blogger.com, login and you will see a button to "Create a blog".

It's really that simple. You'll end up with a domain name that looks like: yourname.blogspot.com. Where "yourname" equals whatever you want. You can do everything through a simple GUI (user interface). If you can send email, you can post a blog.

Your other option is WordPress.com. It's very similar to Blogger. I use it for my personal blog below. (However, I have my own hosting and domain.) Just fill in the sign up info and you're done. Again, your address would be: yourname.wordpress.com.

Don't worry about design at first. Tinker. Play around with a few options, but focus on creating new pages and uploading your content and photos. Once you've chosen one of them (Blogger or WordPress) there are TONS of resources available out there. And you'll find them - in fact, they'll probably find you.

By default, they both archive your uploads by month (it's easy to navigate). When you're ready you can download add-ons (called widgets) to customize almost any aspect of your blog - including more advanced archiving systems.

The best thing to do is to just get your feet wet. Go to either, create an account and just start playing around with all the features. Download some widgets. Both systems will let you upload art, poetry, mp3's, embed video, etc. If you can imagine it, it's likely it can be done.
