New PS3 Update features???

Ok theres a few features that the PS3 currently lacks, I am not criticizing the consoles capabilities as the features on the PS3 are out of this world! But to even improve its feature portfolio a few simple ones could be added in the future, Heres a few examples I think Sony should work on....

Ability to play music in games,
To be able to send voice messages,
Ablilty to start chat parties with friends like on Xbox LIVE.
To be able to use your own picture as your avatar picture.

Have any more ideas??? please share.

The voice message thing is actually a cool i'd love to see, maybe combining a video/pic/voice message in a postcard would be cool, a very Sony thing to do.

Ability to interact with the dynamic theme like the original one, I'd love to see a water/loco roco themed one.

Install game to hard-drive for loading intensive games, we have enough space!

Customize notifications, I dont want to know everyone that comes online at every time, also customized placement of the notifications box to suit certain games.

Ability to use your home avatar as your normal avatar picture.

Play TV update to support upcoming Saorview in ireland, or RTE Player/4od on the XMB.

Video Store to actually come. Its a month late already...

Yeah, I'd love the HDD install option to save on loading times and disc wear.

Folders are still a mess, I have about 50 albums and 100s of video files on it and the scrolling to get to what I want is becoming a pain.

(A series of Lost should be in a folder - not 24 different files).

Once Sony bring in the premium package whenever it'll be (I'm assuming the autumn some time), I'll be a happy chappy.

I voted yes purely for the ability to play Bluray movies.

When the PS3 can play mkv files then I will be very happy indeed.

Yeah sure, but it should have kept the original folder they were in.

I am not doing that for 4 series of it.

That is a terrible poll.

I think the hardware features are better than the 360, and I don't know how someone could argue against that.

If there is one thing worse than a console fanboy debate, it is the above "batton down the hatches" malaraky when there is actually nothing resembling a flame war going on.

Agreed, I just put my whole iTunes folder onto my PS3 and when i want to play my favorite music by U2 i have to wait ages until the cursor reaches the end of the alphabet.

Sony should let your chose the letter of the artist, or even search for a specific artist/album or song.

Let us know of any new innovative feature updates people!;)

Well we got this feature a good few firmware updates back.
I can play my own music in Warhawk.
The ability is there but the game developers arent coding it in.....

Dont blame the playstation for that one.

Sony don't make developers put that feature in the game MS do, but when they use it on 360 multi-platform games why not put it on the ps3 version.

Depends on the game really i guess, any sports game you dont need sound so that should be fine, FPS games you need to hear everything like footsteps so music wouldnt help you. I agree Sony should make the developers put trhe feature in all games, FACT
