    What d'ye reckon?

A job at the Mirror has my name on it!

No prizes for guessing what the headline suggests -
Tony McCoy handed plum ride on Denman
    By Racingpost.com staff 23:55PM 5 FEB 2010

TONY McCOY is to ride Denman for the first time when the 2008 Gold Cup winner and second favourite runs in the Aon Chase at Newbury on February 13.

Trainer Paul Nicholls, writing exclusively in the Racing Post, announced that McCoy would remain on board Denman for his titanic third showdown with stablemate Kauto Star in the Totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup on March 19.

Personally I think its a bit harsh to jock off Sam Thomas who has done nothing wrong on Denman and IMO dserves to partner him again this year.

Has it got to do with his connection to the Ditcheat stable?

Albeit, I wouldn't have liked to be the one to make the decision, I don't think it was arrived at by Barber and Findlay alone.

    P.S.

The link to Denman in this article goes to the stats of the Aussie G1 winner and not the English chaser

    The plot thickens.

I wonder whats going through Sam Thomas' mind right now. Is he laughing, angry, disappointed?

What are/were the reason(s) behind giving McCoy the ride? It didn't pay off.

The owners don't give reasons. Not to the public. None that I've found. Its completely ridiculous to change something that is not broken.

I don't think it was totally McCoy. Denman wasn't right. Under those conditions you want a jockey that knows the horse surely.

The drift may have been a forewarning

It'd be great if Sam Thomas won this race at Warwick. :)

Disappointed i'd say. Doubt he'd have made a difference today though. Time will tell.
