    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Do you mean a new waterpump and timing belt?

Are you having it done in an Opel main dealer (if so in Dublin, or somewhere else?) or through a back street mechanic?

Independent mechanic roughly €200-€300 including parts I would guess...

My friend got an estimate of €200 from back street mechanic, it needs a water pump and fanbelt replaced not timing belt. She thought it was a lot:confused:

Water pump is a cheap enough part, probably €30 - €50 depending on the car, however the time to get access to it and replace it is where the costs are, it's normally replaced with the timing belt but in the case of your car it has a chain. I'd say it's an average quote, might get cheaper but I'd say you will also get more expensive quotes.
