Just wondering. A tall friend remarked on this.

Should I wrestle him to the ground and call him a lanky fceker as its unfounded or take is advice and get a mini?

    Cars have adjustable seats nowadays.

    Since when is 5'8" short?

Exactly ! I'm 5'7 and would never think and car or van is too big ! Give him a kick in the balls and when he doubles over in pain look down at him and say "Now that's short".

Buy breakdown assist too! You'll probably need it.

    You're like a dog with a bone.

The only thing that should decide the size of your car should be useage. Not the contents of your trousers and certianly not your stature.

SPAM! Feet will be further from the pedals.

I would have given respect if you'd included this:

I'm 5'5" and I've had 2 passats and onto a Superb now. Punch your mate in the eye and kick him in the knees and tell him to shut the hell up :-)

    This "fella" decides car designs
    621px-Kieler_Puppe.jpg

(s)he gets measured in the 5 percentile female (only 5% of women are smaller) and 95 percentile male (only 5% of men are taller) figures and a compromise that works for both is reached

Pfft. I'm 5'6 and can see out fine in an '06 Passat. As a front seat passenger, that is.

Im looking at an Automatic DSG Diesel. Do they brake down more often that other cars?

I've a 06 2.0 TDI DSG Passat for just under 2 years now and it hasn't "broken down" at all.

But then I look after mine and it's serviced on time which is essential.

In fairness to him he was saying that the older model (pre 05 Passat) may suit me better, is less like a ship to drive.

I will still punch him in the eye when we are next on an escalator and I take the higher step.

No Volkswagen have just released a new pedal version of the Passat - to me it looks like very like the beetle but I could be wrong!!

I drive a BMW 320 and have no problems at all and I'm 5'8" 3/4's!!!

I've actually owned a Mini too - I'd go for one over a Passat any day! :D

That's not why I counted the quarters... When you're this close to the ground they all count!

The 320 is round the same size as the Passat as far as I'm aware. I think there both around 15 feet......
