    I'm plesently surprised!
Kevin Smith's output has been fairly patchy of late, especially when he attempts to broaden his appeal beyond his chosen genre of smartass geek-flicks, but this seems right up his alley.
I hate, hate, hate the title though. It smacks of a generic studio tag line written by a numpty in the marketing department five minutes before five on a Friday afternoon taking his inspiration through leaning over the shoulder of the guy writing byline for Paul Blart, Mall Cop 2: Cop out!
As for the trailer, there are chucles, but suspiciously absent in it is any refrence to any kind of a plot.....

In December 2009, the studio changed the title from A Couple of Dicks to Cop Out.

A comedy with a strong plot is a bad comedy imo. For me my favourite comedies are a series of comical events tied together by a loose common thread.

In the Loop has a strong plot?

I wouldn't say "In the Loop" has a strong plot. It is however very well written and acted. The plot is extraneous to the dialogue and relationships between the characters, imo.

Like all good comedies, imo, the plot in "In the loop" really only exists to glue together the individual comedic threads.
