Positive Feedback

EBay has gone mad these days

I mean, what is the problem?

When I sell things buyers are hesitant to leave Positive Feedback (even when they receive the items in full working order and as described there is a lax feeling about leaving positive feedback)

As a buyer myself, when I pay for something straight away with PayPal and the seller marks the payment as received and the item as dispatched - surely they should then mark Positive Feedback straight away. My job is done. It is now their responsibility to make sure the item reaches me as described and safely. Why would they wait, just to make sure I got the item, and leave them PF before they leave me PF

Sellers have less rights these days on EBay (Paypal holding money, not being able to leave honest negative feedback for sellers) but buyers are still made to wait for their item and report everything is ok before they are left PF....surely there is something wrong about that?

Buyers can sometimes have an emergency (like a death in the family [that occurred after they bought the item]) and leaving positive feedback isn't exactly high on their list of priorities. Yes it's frustrating when you give positive feedback and don't receive it in return but **** happens.

Also, as a seller, since the feedback changes, I leave positive feedback at the same time that I mark the item as dispatched.

Well in fairness a lot of sellers do leave FB after the item has been paid. That's what I do anyways for all the good is does.

Buyers don't have to leave FB, its voluntary. It is annoying though I agree.

Ya eBay has changed a lot. It's all about the buyers now and buyers are copping onto how easy it is to exploit eBay / PayPal.

I'm in the process of setting up my own store so will be moving away from eBay. Sick of the fees and everything else.

eBay is grand for selling crap ya find in your attic but it's getting harder to make a business out of it.
