    Final score Ireland 22 - Italy 5.

Italy scored a consolation try in the last few minutes.

Was a tight enough game. Italy made some very good breaks. The Ireland scrum was definitely under pressure at times. Italians missed 2 kickable penalties in the first half and failed to convert their try in the 2nd.

Good result, any irish win is a good one.
Shame it was on the same night as the A game and U21's, it got much less coverage.

How are they expected to do in the 6Nations?

    Assume England dominate massively?

I think from all I have read about them they have a fairly good team and are in with a chance.

Ah not really, they wouldn't realistically be expected to win it. England, France and Wales would all have far more resources and money at their disposal. The standard of rugby the players in those countries would be playing regularly, even at a domestic level would be a lot higher than here.

Also, obviously, they'll have a much larger pool of players to draw from. I think a lot of the England players would be pro/semi-pro too which is quite unrealistic to hope for in this country, at this point in time.

Last year the girls game within two points of drawing the championship with Englan. They were also leading England at half time last year which is no mean feet add that to a victory over France and a narrow defeat to Wales (who beat England) which cost them the championship draw. The girls are in with a great shout this year and their preparation is on a whole new level after intregating with the IRFU.

They did so well against the English and lost it in the last 10 mins of the game last year they have a lot to play for this year and the more coverage they get the better the chance of getting girls to play in underage competitions and thus getting more of a pool of players to pick from for the international team :)
