I need to change over the wii in the house from my lcd to an older Beko TV in another room as kids taking over the lcd on me.
Now the Beko works find for TV but when I went to connect the wii using the scart lead which now has inserted into the 3 color cables into the Beko TV nothing comes on the TV.
I have no controls for this TV but I thought if I take out the tv cable from back of TV and have Wii connected that it would automatically find the Wii.I can't get the AV chanel as I have no controls, any advice.I don't want to get new controls if I can help it.

Has the Beko TV got a SCART socket on the back? This might work, turn off the TV and the Wii. Connect the Wii to the TV via a SCART. Turn on the Wii first, then turn on the TV. The TV should then detect the Wii on the SCART and display the AV channel.

If using an RCA (phono) to SCART adaptor, there will be no auto A/V switching ("look at me") function, because only the left and right audio and composite picture information are carried through the adaptor. Pin 8 on a scart socket is responsible for this feature, but I don't know if the Wii supports this anyway.

If you can't select the A/V extension by pressing a combination of buttons on the tv itself, you'll have to find the remote or get a universal remote.

If you happen to have a Sky remote, and can look up the code for Beko and program it to work with the tv, pressing tv and then help will switch av channels.

To program your Sky remote to work with your TV, look up the code for your brand of TV.

    http://www.satelliteonline.co.uk/sky_remote_codes.htm

Three suggested Beko codes on that page are 0125, 514, and 398

Read the instructions there for how to input that code on the remote.
If you can put your tv into standby after entering one of the codes then it should work.

To switch a/v channels, press TV on the remote and then pressing help will switch through the a/v options on your TV.
