hi all been on here for last 4 -5 months and have really enjoyed reading up an all things relating to cycling , great source of infromation .As i posted earlier i am doing between 25 - 45 kms 5 days a week on an old raleigh max mtb.So having now got the bug im wondering or was thinking of buying an old bike and perhaps revamping it but these seem to be very rare .My local bike shop gave me a price of 750 for a TREK 1.2 TRIPLE 10 which i presume is ok, so should i buy new or keep looking for something a bit cheeper and maybe needing some work ,thanks.

You could go secondhand and either pick up something similar to the Trek for less money or something a little bit better for around the same. That price is pretty standard for a 1.2 I think. Getting an old bike may not be the best idea if you are specifically looking at getting into cycling, revamping can be difficult and expensive and you could end up with something heavy that doesn't really work very well even if you put some effort into it.
