According to this italian website http://www.rugbyuniontimes.com/ the FIR and Viadana and Treviso have cobbled together the money for thei admission to the Celtic League. Story just published so probaly not picked up by english media yet but could be great news if it's true

Fair play to them I thought it was an outrageous demand to be honest

hopefully - its a win win for everyone - and in particular the Italians themselves, who need as much competition as possible, the Celtic league would be perfect for their inclusion

If true it can only be a good thing for Rugby.

The more countries that are competivie then the more popular it will get elsewhere.

Its a great thing for the ML and for Italian rugby, but having to pay that much to join is a joke. No need for it.

Considering the complete mess the FIR have made of the whole process you can't blame Celtic Rugby for wanting to cover their asses and make sure they don't lost money over the whole thing.

Sure and Celtic rugby telling them two weeks before they were due to sign contracts that they wanted a €3millon bond is the height of professionalism.
