Some serious roads there....even looking at them has triggered my fear of heights. Would love to try some of them though!

Bolivia could do with investing in a tunnel boreing machine :)

There other snaps of the "Death Road" in Bolivia that are crazy looking! A bus fell off the side once.

Bolivia have ambitious plans to build a tunnel from Bolivia to an artificial island in the Pacific, so that they have direct access to the sea.

Being the poorest country in South America means this is a long way from reality.

Replacing death road can be job two for the boreing machine. :)

Did roads very similar to road No.14 Trollstigen in Norway when there during the summer. We were supposed to do that road but the last one we did nearly fried our brakes and after 8 hours of driving another 8 more hours didnt help..

All that in a 14 year old 1.3 Golf.. was a fair aul challenge.. :p

If you like that type of road, Western Norway is the place to go.. We climbed to over a 1500 meter mountain pass and between hairpins and tunnels, it was amazing.. and slightly terrifying.. but so much fun especially if you had a decent car with good brakes.. :D

Completely off topic, but is that legal (international laws) to drill under other countries? Looks like they're following the Peru / Chile border, maybe that's key to doing it legally?

It has support from the Chilian government, not sure about Peru. Bolivia have been looking for a sea border since it was taken away in 1879, and Chile see this as a way of appeasing them without losing any land.

Many Bolivian diplomats are against the idea, consider it a joke, and want a proper land border.

Peru and Bolivia don't have the best relations either, and don't want the island in what is currently their (ocean) territory.

Would be epic if it was made though!

Indeed, some mad pictures of a Bolivian road, followed by a snap of the M50 with everyone crammed into the overtaking lane.

I've driven one of those, been a passenger on another, and cycled the "Death Road"!
