Do you even know why they're protesting or are you just trying to slate students for some weird reason?

These "knobs" are protesting because they are being used as pawns by the staff of the college because the money they get for marking exams got cut. People are waiting to accept jobs but cant until they know if they have to repeat modules/exam etc.

Maybe you should pay more attention to the news story you are watching

I went on protest in college once because our lecturers wouldn't let us use capital letters at the start of our sentences.

Maybe you should have done the same pmcmahon. ;)

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2010/0203/waterford.html
Over 1,000 students have protested at Waterford IT over a row between lecturers and college authorities, which has left an estimated 10,000 students without their exam results.

The dispute concerns payments to be made to Institute lecturers for correcting exams at the end of each semester.

The Teacher's Union of Ireland says rates of pay for correction of examinations at Waterford Institute of Technology were changed unilaterally and without consultation with staff.

WIT insists that the move brings the rate of payment in line with norms in the Institute of Technology sector.

Lecturers have since refused to give the students at the college the results of exams that were taken before Christmas.

Students say it is not fair being dragged into an industrial dispute that does not involve them.

    Ya they're such knobs alright!

Logical argument, well presented and backed up by relevant facts and citation.

I am convinced by the power of your eloquence!

    All students have knobs.

    Even the women.

How would you feel if you paid 1500e every year and couldnt get an exam corrected for you?

    Get a job !!

Nothing wrong with them protesting, really.

Their exam results are being held from them through no fault of their own and as many of them pointed out on a feature on tonight's news, they've had to pay a higher fee to attend college this year.
So, they've had to pay more money for a less efficient service. Hardly seems fair.

Lecturers in WIT aren't exactly part of our braintrust. Sack the lot of them and get someone else to mark the exams.

Why did this even warrant a thread? That statement says absolutely nothing.

    Some students are knobs
    Some non-students are knobs
    Some Irish are knobs
    Some women are knobs
    Some _______ are knobs

If 'some students are knobs' was the conclusion of your thinking, maybe you should look at going back into education yourself :P

Some of them are in the final year and need to know what the results are so they know what they need to work on for the last few months. Its not fair that the results are being held from them over something to do with the lecturers. Its the lecturers that are being the knobs not the students.

Just out, Joe Pesci leads his mafia band to WIT to give the students an offer they can't refuse.

Break the strike or he breaks you.

**** you, you ****ing ****, in cinemas February 6th.

Nothing wrong with protesting when people who are supposed to be guiding your education are using you as ransoming tool. **** that, I'm not one for protests usually but if that happened in UCD I'd be at the front.

    Translation:

I've no job, and i dislike those who attempt to better themselves, and who stand up for themselves when they are treated unfairly.

also,in your post history you hate british people, anyone who is richer than you, bank of ireland, and pretty much anything to do with the establishment.

Get a job. Or just give to one of the foreigners you hate so much, because I'm damn sure anyone could do it better than you.
