Hi. I'm starting my Pre-Exams tomorrow, and was wondering what the size of the answer booklets will be. They are supposedly very similar to the ones in the Junior Cert.

For instance, when they advise to write two pages A4, will there be margins on each side of the page? What I'm trying to ask is:

Is the writing space on a page in the answer booklet a bit less than a normal A4 page from a refill pad?

    Thanks!
    Ed.

They're pretty good, A4 size pages. The pages are lined and maginalised like your average A4 pad page, there's a margin on the left for writing down your question number and the likes, a margin on the right "for office use only" i.e correction. There's about 15 (I can bearly recall) in a booklet which is usually plenty, but you can always ask for more paper/graph paper from the Superintendent no problem.

The lines are fairly wide apart in the SEC answer books too.

In the ones we are using for our pres there are 4 pages, 2 double sided ones. I'm presuming that for the JC they will be larger in length.

OP, they are slightly smaller than the average A4 because there is a right margin as well as a left one but both are rather thin so don't expect it to bulk out your answer too much.

Thanks Guys. The right-hand margin made a difference all right. There seemed to be six double-sided pages in the booklet for us.

    Day one over anyway!

    Thanks,
    Ed.

I use so much paper in exams its ridiculous!
My Irish Christmas was up to 14 pages, geography was around the 12 and CSPE was just madness seeing as most people had 2 a4's and I done around 8

Ours had left hand side margin and the examiner's special margin on the right. There was 12 back-to-back pages on it
