I'm the guy who posted about the .ie domain. I was going to add this to that post but I thought I might get more replies as a new thread. I was thinking of putting Gulliver Ireland's Gullnet system on it.
Has anyone here used it?It says on the site here (http://www.gulliverireland.com/Our-Services.htm) that it is "a custom-built booking engine for your property that you can place on your own website for FREE." Sounds great but there is no mention of how much the actual commission you get is going to be (a pittance I bet).
Also, by "your property" I presume it is aimed more at hotel and B&B owners (which I am not).
I haven't read the whole site, I will when I have time but is this a new venture by Gulliver? And is it worth me looking into it? I have actually had a few emails to my site from people thinking it was for real.

Gullnet would be a competitor to your site.

My site isn't a proper functioning site, it's just a show case. The hotels and bookings are ficticious. However maybe because of the domain name and the facility for adding hotel details to it, maybe putting Gullnet on it is not a bad idea.

If you are even half serious about trying to make a few quid with your .ie domain name then you should make the time to properly research what Gullnet is about and how it operates. 2 minutes of investigation would have explained that Gullnet is not what you want nor would it be available to you.

What you are looking to do is become an affiliate with Gulliver/GoIreland.Gullnet is used by VERY busy sites like Dublin Tourism that can deal with reservations over the phone, process credit cards etc...and is not given over lightly by its owners without you having a serious track record. It is also mainly used by actual property owners.

The GoIreland/Gulliver affiliate programme is offered at the behest of its operators and you wont make any money unless you are prepared to try and drive decent traffic to your site, can rank well on Google, are willing to pay for traffic etc.. as you only will get paid for online bookings made via your site. Its an extremly competitive area to even attempt and you would need to grow your site substantuially as well as try and rank it if you are serious. A dot ie domain like the one you have will only target the online Irish marketplace. Commission wise you would probably get between 3% and 5% of booking you generate.

Its not a new venture by Gulliver/GoIreland and in fact I was their first affiliate going back probably 8 years ago but I did my homework first!

Yeah I know you are right, I will find the time.
