Hey guys,I'm 17 atm just got my provisional and I'm hoping one of you would be able to tell me a good cheap first car(preferably not a micra) and cheap insurance that would go with it.Preferably I'd want to be able to get car and insurance for under 2000 buts that's probably a bit unrealistic so I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks

I'd start by getting a few insurance quotes, so at least you know where you stand there. The one car that comes up again & again in these threads is the Fiesta 1.25 Zetec, they're a great little car and streets ahead of a Micra IMO. Like I said, though, check your insurance first.

check out 123.ie or bestquote.ie they are usually the cheapest for insurance. for a car id go for a mazda 323.looks like a big car but only has a 1.3 engine so is cheap to run and cheap enough on insurance.

Similar to Hyundai Coupes - all show and no go, which is good for provisional drivers.

    also try ensure.ie
