Hi There, i'm not sure if this thread is closed but if its not my post might be of some interest to some budding writers. i have joined a writing group in east clare and we meet every week (since last May). i have decided to write a book. i got a good idea (she said hopefully) and have now written a few chapters. its v untidy and bitty yet but i'm hoping to spend a bit of time over the next few weekends to tidy it up. i dont have a deadline, i dont mind if it takes forever! but to promote my book i have decided to do a blog. i'd be delighted if anybody could let me know best place to set one up, i have few articles written for it already which just need fine tuning. also i have decided to enter a few competitions which are coming up so this might interest other people also:
Notes on a Saturday, "What you write should not be an attempt to execute an idea – for a story, for a poem, etc – that has previously occurred to you. Rather, we would prefer you to write whatever happens to come into your head at that particular time. We will be accepting submissions to February 6th, 2010 from Saturday February 6th 2010 until Monday February 8th 2010 – thereby allowing a couple of days for typing up etc. Maximum word count: 400 Send all work to: submissions@succour.org "
also try Listowel writers festival which is in June but their competitions deadline is Feb 26, www.writersweek.ie
also try the Molly Keane competition deadline is March 25th

i am hoping to do a writing workshop with David Rice in Killaloe on Feb 20th which i saw advertised on Clare Focus www.clarefocus.ie.
hope this might help some people and if u have any advice about the blog let me know!

I'm having trouble making sense out of your post. What exactly are you asking or telling us?

Would you mind splitting it up into two posts or even two threads?
