Just looking for advice on the best areas/bars in Paris for Irish supporters on match day? Obviously Irish pubs will be the target but are there specific ones we should be heading for?

I have always been at Sullivan's in the 18th but it's been a very long time now.

Heading over for the match myself.
First time travelling to Paris for a match.

Would really like to know the best places to go pre & post match.

Looking forward to seeing all the Green Jerseys over there.....

The problem with Paris is the city is huge and so spread out...there isn't the same buzz around the place that you would get around Cardiff or Edinburgh.

We normally skip the Irish pubs and go to our usual haunts in Paris (OH lived there for a while) but last time we headed off to an Irish bar with a crowd we met at the match (knew a few of them). Am 99% certain it was Carr's http://www.carrs-paris.com/fr/

The place was packed and a great night was had by all!

Can't wait for tomorrow's match but really excited about the French game. Hopefully some well seasoned veterens will be on to advise us on the best haunts, if not well I'm sure we'll all sing loud enough to find each other :D

    Come On Ireland!!!

Carrs is a good spot. Also a few Irish pubs on Blvsd. Clichy (theme stylee, but decent with a crowd / full of Aussies English etc. for banter.) near Montmarte.

Kind of a tourist deathtrap (Moulin rouge is up there, full of sex shops, seedy) but we had a reasonable gang of couples and had no trouble at all, other than we sat in "the Station" drinking till 5am, owner was buying us shots and everything (probably because we'd put his kids through college).

Paris is a tricky place, as like London, it's too big to care about an International, but unlike London there isn't a "village" to hang out in (smelly Twickenham)

There's a good Irish pub called McBride's on rue Saint Denis, near Les Halles. Loads of TV's (widescreen and smaller) and a basement bar that will generally show whatever other match is on.

    Guinness isn't bad there either.

The area itself is really lively, and Hall's Beer Tavern down the way from McBride's will usually show matches (and has better quality food).
