    hi all,
at the moment i am driving a honda civic 1.4 hatchback and am thinking of changing it , i am thinking about choosing either a subaru impreza i.6 or a 1.3 mits lancer both 2006.
Any advice on which one to pick would be very helpful.
    thanks.

They both have rubbish interiors, aren't that good looking and are generally bought on the strength of the reputation of turbo models. If I had to choose one it'd be the Subaru, but it's only marginal.

there have to be better options out there

What is it you are looking for in a car?
as the two cars picked really are not great, but do bear a resemblence to their big brothers.....

if 1.6 is the top of your range... Astra GTC?

As above, I'd be looking at an Astra GTC or a Focus 1.6.

this would be worth a look. 2006 Corolla Strata, which basiclly means it gets alloys and fogs, side skirts and rear valance, upgraded seats, leather wheel and gearknob and carbon-fibre-ish dash panels.

    1.4 VVT-i is nippy enough with 97bhp.

chanks colm , that looks like a good car but its in donegal im in kildare , but the carolla is another option are the astras available in 5door

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,520 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

the Astras are available in 5 door alright, but most are basic "Life" spec which is pretty nasty

I wouldn't bother with the Corolla, I'd sooner go for the 1.6 in the Civic Saloon.

Good luck finding a 1.6 Civic saloon in this country.....

if the astra takes your fancy...

get a good spec... the basic is exactly that... basic.. cheap

something like this would be worth it the DESIGN spec...

You should be able to get yourself a 06 Ford Focus 1.6 litre Zetec with the Connection Pack on your budget.

Both the Lancer and the Subaru are worthy alternatives to a Focus, Corolla etc I think. Lancer will be lighter on fuel than the Subaru. I'd buy both before I'd buy a petrol Octavia.
