Surprisingly I couldn't find a similar thread, so here it is. Which Dublin city centre pub (aside from the sky bar) serves the best Guinness?

    +1 for Grogans.

The worst pint has to be the Sugar Club. Utter swill!

The Lower Deck, Ryans on Camden street, Fallons, Brogans, Ryans of Queen street, The Bachelor, Chaplins, the Long Hall and Kennedys by Tara street DART station all do good pints. Consistantly nice creamy pints from Fallons, the Long Hall and Kennedys.

    4.60 Degsy...cheaper than Neary's....grumble, grumble...flipping Neary's.

I find Guinness is very consistant now. Not much between pints. Too cold, still drink it by the big beaker full but it has got very much colder.

Paeder Kearney's is floating my boat for my after work pint. Coming in at the princely sum of 3.50 and nicely poured.

    Flowing Tide when on northside.

Was in the Dawson Lounge (I was doing a mini pub crawl after exams) a few weeks ago and the pint in there was terrible and to make matters worse they put a shamrock in the head!!!

Best Pints sampled on that day: Ryans on Camden St, Long Hall on Georges St,
Mulligans on Poolbeg St. and Kennedys near Tara St.

Forgot about that small Kennedy's. Good pints in there and great music!

The guy that runs the place is a nice guy, bit quiet but nice all the same.

+1 for Kennedys also. a bit dingy but there are always seats and it's great craic watching women run in off the Dart looking for the jacks ;)

Try just about any night club in dublin.

Any pub where there is a long distance from the cold room to the bar will generally have poor guiness

    Ask before ordering.

Moved out of Dublin a couple years ago but I remember them being around 4.50 which is good value considering the location and you pay nearly 6 around the corner at the Dawson Street Axis of Evil.

Surprised no-one's mentioned The Stag's Head. Great pint of Guinness, though I haven't been in for a couple of months.

Cracking pint in The Lord Edward, and also in my favourite pub, Nealon's.

    Mmm Guinness.. gasping now!

Was in there last night, and they have Pint Bottles in there.

Love them, none of that muck from the taps for me

Degsy, Dublin Beers - start a thread :)

    Bottled. Love it.
Not too many places do it anymore, has to be a certain kind of pub. The good kind :D

There was one half organised before but it fell apart. End of Feb might be a good time. :)

mulligans or the community club in santry does a mean one, but tis a members bar.

my mate use to work in the airport and told me before that Guinness are very particular about their taps and the serving of Guinness in the airport. they want any potential tourists to get a top notch pint in the airport bars so they'll continue the trend on their travels of the country. makes sense really. althought its a pity they dont have control over the taxi drivers there too.

I'd agree with 99% of the pubs listed, although I thought bruxelles was an odd one.. Anyway, it's obvious that there are some discerning stout drinkers knocking about on this forum!

A few more that seem to have been overlooked so far:

    Kehoes of South Anne Street
    Gaffneys of Fairview
    O'Briens just off Leeson Street

yeah, bruxelles pints are average and are served by the worst bar staff in dublin.

I used to think so but the last few times I've been there it's been terrible - really really watery, not all nice and creamy like it should be. Shame.

I've had a reconsider, it's Davy Byrnes for me.

Overpriced and average/mediocre pints in there. As much as people knock it, I haven't had a bad pint of Guinness in Fibbers on Parnell St. in a long time. The consistency is just right and the taste is damn good!

    not worth it.

They have a new place on the quays opposite civic offices that's over 21's. Nice pints in there too! It used to be "Out on the liffey".

Must be me then, I drunk in there a good bit up until around two years ago and always liked the pint (although I always got in there late and was well on it). I've also had Guiness in alot of the other bars mentioned so I've something to compare against. McDaids across the street are quite good too.
