Since the launch of the World of Warcraft Armory, we've been regularly releasing updates and new features designed to help players stay connected to the game even when they're not logged in. Today, we wanted to give you a heads-up about a new service now in development that will let players access the Auction House directly through the Armory website or Armory App for iPhone or iPod touch.

While there are still plenty of details to be worked out, we're designing the service to offer auction functionality similar to what's available in-game. Players have been requesting -- and we've been hoping to implement -- a feature like this for a long time, and we're excited that the Armory and the game have evolved to a point that makes it possible.

This is a fairly complex service to develop, due in large part to its unprecedented integration with the game, so we don't have an exact release date yet. It's important to note here that certain elements of the service will be premium-based, which we'll go into more detail on once the service functionality is finalized. As with all of the services we offer, we plan to integrate the Auction House and Armory in a way that won't disrupt the gameplay experience, and we won't release it until it meets the quality standards that we've set for our other features and services. You may be seeing bits and pieces of the Auction House service pop up in the test builds we use for the public test realms as we go through the process of internal testing. We'll have more info to share with you here and at http://www.WorldofWarcraft.com as we get closer to release.

Very much so... I do hope you will be able to freely browse opposing faction's AH (and that of other realms) without being 'tied' to what your existing characters can normally view, would be nice to be able to compare cross-faction/cross-realm prices.

I wonder what blizzards reaction to 3rd party program that can scan the ah through armoury will be all the same

What would the problem with that be Splinter? I dont see any inherent issues. I doubt you will be able to post things....

well a main issue i can see is if they allow you to interact with the ah. it means people could use programs like auctioneer but based on the pc which is fine. but may cause problems with keyloggers etc

I dont see how a keylogger would make a difference between WOW and an external application, unless it was built into the ap....

I suppose the actual functionality depends on what exactly they say when they mean this:

auction functionality similar to what's available in-game

If you could buy and sell as you could in game, then it makes the whole concept a good bit more interesting.

They want to charge us more for using the auction house to its full outside the normal game, where we already pay a monthly fee and also have to pay a fee to change our apparenace or name

Next they'll want to charge an in-game farting fee

It'll be nice to browse/track/camp the AH from the web, I'm guessing it's buying and selling that will command a premium?

Sounds like legalised gold selling to me, paying real money to get more virtual gold.

I really really doubt that buying and selling will be part of this program, besides, even if it was possible trying to make any amount of gold using just this program would be a nightmare unless its got built in auctioneer/quickauction functions.

What would be the point of them creating an mobile version of the auction house without being able to buy and sell in the auction house? I also think its a bad idea, and definitely hate the trend that Activision are taking with this. And i say Activision, because they are the biggest bunch of money hungry ****ers in the world.

i dont see how it'll work tho, will you beable to see your inventory and bank slots ? when you cancel will the items automatically go to your bags ?
