Graspop Metal Meeting vs. Bang Your Head

I want to go to a festival this Summer but I'm not sure between the two. BYH attracts me because of the (absurdly) low price and GMM also seems to have a pretty low price compared to Irish and UK festivals. Neither lineup has wowed me, although there are a couple of bands on the lower end of the roster - more at GMM so far - that I would like to see. I'd go to Sonisphere but it clashes with Leeds weekend and I've heard good things about that lineup this year.

Basically, I'm looking for advice before booking a ticket, from anyone who has either been or know's the area. Which would people recommend from their own experience, a friend's experience, or just from going to festivals on a regular basis (I'm sorry to say I've never been to a proper festival before so this will be my first). It also looks as if I'll be travelling alone which isn't a problem but I would obviously prefer the safer and more organised of the two festivals.

Also, any idea who the other two headliners (asides from KISS) look to be at GMM?

AC/DC look very likely for Graspop. The other headliner is a bit of a mystery. I've heard Iron Maiden being name-dropped but they aren't touring Europe until August. Metallica are possible but they will probably be playing Sonisphere Festivals elsewhere that weekend. Would have loved to have seen Rammstein but they're already booked for Rock Werchter.

Never been to bang your head, was at graspop in 08 and all I can remember is queues, and walking.

For a first festival I'd have a look at wacken, or bloodstock.
Bloodstock is so easy to get to, and very well organised, everything is pretty nearby.

Wacken is about as perfect as a festival is gonna get imo (Has come under fire for its lineup past few years) but it has something for everyone.

Graspops location changed last year & the campsite & arena are linked so no more long walks.
I've been to Graspop 7 times, Wacken 4 times & Bloodstock Open Air 3 times. I've never been to BYH so I can't comment.

Graspop is a great festival, esp. since they've sorted the location out. I didn't camp last year for the first time but the people I know who did said it was great. It's usually good fun every year, so you'll probably enjoy it regardless of bands.
Wacken I gave up on in 2003, because it had gotten too big & the queues were mental getting in & out of the grounds every day. Anyone I know that has gone subsequently has given out about it, so I'd steer clear if I was you.
Bloodstock is a great little fest thats getting better every year.
This year I was hoping to get to Hellfest to have a change, but I'm on holidays not long before it, so I don't think I'll be allowed anymore time off, so it's looking like Bloodstock only for me this year.
