Rent allowance question

Here's a quick outline of my situation:

I'm from Dublin, and while I was in college my parents moved to Laois and I started renting a place here.
I finish college and stay a while longer, but because there's no work I have to move back with my parents in Laois in August, claiming JA.
I'm now looking to move back to Dublin where I am from and where most of my job prospects are.
Would I be able to claim rent allowance for taking up a new residence in Dublin even though I am not currently resident there?

Im not sure but my friend was living in Tralee with her parents at home, and in Jan returned to Cork to do a course for 3 months and she doesnt qualify as they said it has been her choice to move. You may need to call them and check, sorry i cant help further.

You would need to be on one of the local authority housing lists or be in private rented accommodation for a period of six months before being able to receive rent allowance.
