I've had my current earphones (Sony MDR EX-85LP) for a while now and they've decide to give up on me (damn Sony) so I'm looking for a new pair. I want a pair of at least the same quality but preferably better so can anyone recommend any? I'm looking for decent quality so anything under 150 would be great!

Sennheiser are way better than Sony, I know as I used to be a Sony fan.
The good thing is that they are cheaper as well.

Have a HD 215 and some earphones for my iPod as well. Incredible.

Yeah the Sonys are okay but the build quality isn't great I found.

I have the Sennheiser IE6 which I find excellent. Although I believe it is worth going up the IE7 which would still come in under 150...

Theres lots of choice in the Sennheiser range, whatever you need them for they have one.
Best thing I had with mine was the option to fold one ear up so you can make it a single piece headphone. Also the bass on them was incredible, and I listen to acoustic music as well and I cannot fault them.
    Build - 100%
    Price - 100%
    Sound - 100%

Yes 100% agree, top quality. I have in my collection (so far!) -

    HD25-1
    HD555
    CX300
    CX95
    IE6

The only set above that disappointed me were the CX95 - great sound but really annoying joining section to extend the lead - without it the lead is too short (it won't reach jeans pocket), and with it it creates a heavy tug in the middle of the cable which is very annoying.

The HD555 I didn't think were that good and for several months they sat there unused - only in the last couple of weeks have I really tried them and have really fallen in love now, great headphones.
