    Hi,

I have approx 800eur to spend on a bike and have been looking at this one.Basically looking for one for adventure type racing, maybe
taking up cycling, training and some commuting. It's a little more than i planned but this seemed to get good reviews and is
a good price compared to online. I just missed out on the sale in mcconveys which it would have come in at about 670,but
am thinking of forking out the extra to get it in cycleways.

Anyway just looking for opinions - am just a little concerned it may be overpriced compared to other makes with similiar spec
but still seems to me to have good equipment on it?

    cheers

I bought a Secteur Elite from McConveys on Monday - great prices. Superb bike - I'm delighted with it.

    Specialized - well they're special

not sure if you'd be interested in one of these, but i have a Boardman in that price rang,i know the whole Halfords thing hasn't been the best for them, but it has been a great bike so far,the only bad thing id say with them is the fact they dont come with triple..

i guess you got it at sale price? i missed it , but now works out same price down south as it is north, well about eur30 cheaper but not worth it.

Looking on wiggle and crc, i dont really see anything comparable in that price range

@Bulmers- your link shows the bike with 105 groupset @795. If it is with that in Cycleways that is a very good deal, especially for an Irish shop. It is basically Specialized's alloy version of the Roubaix frame which has been very well received. I have had I think three Specializeds and they have all been very well stuck together.

On cycleways it specifies "* Reach-adjustable Sora 9-speed shifters with optical gear display provide easy and reliable gear selection" as well as 105 shifters. Which is it?

I've seen the bike in 53*North in Blanchardstown - I thought it was a pug fugly, but that's largely down to my abhorrence for "relaxed" geometry and HUGE head-tubes. If you do really want with that high front end there aren't really any competitors at that entry level.

I got the sister bike the Allez sport last year for 800euro and have been very happy with it. The Secteur looks very comfortable for sportives.

think it's the shifters that are 105, it has a Sora front and tiagra rear.

I think i'll check it out as having a look around elsewhere, the price seems to be quite good given the spec, and it's a specialized.

The 105 shifters are key, sora shifters have the thumb button, not the best.
