It has been announced that Ireland’s popular Cage Contender show will become the official feeder show for Cage Wars Championship. It will work quite simply, any Irish fighter wanting to join the Cage Wars roster must come through a Cage Contender show first!!!

“We are pleased to have struck a deal with Patrick Mooney and Chris Kelly of CWC. They are a truly International brand and with us now the largest domestic brand in Ireland the deal makes perfect sense. Irish fighters wanting to join the roster of an International show must first compete in the top domestic show.” (John Ferguson, Cage Contender)

At least one fighter from each Cage Contender show will be chosen to compete at Cage Wars. This will give the talent scouts from CWC the perfect chance to see the best up and coming talent close up

“Cage Wars Championship is delighted to be working with John and his team at Cage Contender. The professionalism and high production values that Cage Contender has shown are very much in line with the high standards that we set for ourselves at CWC. I am sure that this will be a long running and mutually beneficial relationship between two great MMA brands.” (Chris Kelly, Cage Wars Championship)

This is an interesting development for Irish MMA and yet another jump in the rapid growth of Cage Contender.
