    Hey lads,

I had my nice eotech 553 shattered on saturday from a BB hit. I've had a look to see how difficult it is to fix. Im wondering is there anyone out there thats handy at replacing the glass or would know who could fix it for me. I'm not looking for a freebie fix, I would pay to get it fixed of course.

Would like to get it back working as its an expensive bit of guicci! :)

    Thanks!

I looked into this, and it's probably not worth it, as the glass is curved and you'd need to scavenge another eotech of the same type.

Your best bet is to go back in time and get one of these : http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/element-holosight-lens-protector-for-551-552-dot-scope.html

thanks dave! would you believe it that i was looking at something like that the night before the 553 got shattered! doh!

I'm wondering, if i could just pull out the old glass from the eotech, do you think the protector would work instead of the glass?

Naw, I have the protector and it's intentionally not shiny. It's also farther away so the red dot would probably be all distorted and huge. I'd love to be proven wrong though :-)

ahh no way.. so thats that fuuuuucked then! :P

    Tears.

Thanks for your advice dave. I'll go on the hunt for a new scope so :)

mindphuck not sure if this helps but i have a 552, which when i got back from a friend who used it at the take aim cup, the dot would moved all over the place when you fire and i don't know how to fix it but i'd sell it to you if the glass would be any use to you. let me know cause i don't have the heart to throw it way cause like you said it's an expensive piece of kit.

Gambit one of the lenses in you'd eotech is probably loose (the red dot bounches off the inside of the rear lens and then off the inside of the front lens then out to your eyeball through the rear lens. My 553 had a wobblely rear lens that I fixed by wedging some scraps of card between it and the frame, works perfect now. Yours may have the same problem, or it's insides could be banjoed.

Can you not take it to a watchmaker/repair shop and ask them to turn a new lense for it? It might cost more than your average watch repair cos it's a custom shape. Just an idea.
