Best Midlands Site?

I was just wondering what would be the best site in the midlands for a few newbies to rent out gear and airsoft for a weekend at the end of this month?

I'm trying to introduce my mates to airsoft (even though I've only done it once!). I've been to Rathbeggan and I thought it was good, but wouldn't mind hearing about others. So anywhere around the midlands/Dublin would suit us great.

I don't know how popular some of these sites are either... I don't want it to be just a few of my mates playing - we need someone else to shoot!

Also, anyone know anything about Moyvalley Airsoft? I was tempted to go there but no one really talks about them here and they don't have a thread on the Retailer and Sites forum.

    Cheers in advance!

    hey mate,

I think Rathbeggan would be perfect for introducing new people as you yourself have been there already which would help. I'v only been there once myself so I'm not sure what the situation on renting gear is.
Personaly Red Barn is My favourite, I think you must E-mail them about renting guns etc. But its a nice big map with a good few different terrain/scenarios.
and alot of people to shoot :p
    xXx

The best midlands sites you should try out is MAC or SEAirsoft, also if you want to go to the east coast AirsoftReloaded is opening a site this weekend in Roundwood, Co Wicklow and then Hellfire in Bray... if you want to venture into North Dublin county there is Rathbeggan, HRTA, Redbarn and or us;) anyway most sites will entertain your friends and you for the day and you will have a great time regardless of whatever site you visit.

MAC is invite only, so I doubt they even do rentals.
I myself would recommend HRTA, theres always good games to be had and its newbie friendly.

HRTA seems to be popular anyways. I presume they have the usual mix of missions?

Whats the gear like - in comparison to somewhere like Rathbeggan? Similar?

Oh and does anyone know if there would be a reduction in rental price if I brought my own gun, but still need the rest of the gear?

    Cheers.

Yup you get the usually mix of games, but if you have one or two games in mind say it to the marshall and theres a good chance he'll run it.

And what do you mean by "rest of the gear"? Only other thing that you can rent is a face mask. The face mask is usually about €1 to rent.

So if you bring your own gun, you'll have to pay €1 for the mask.

Oh. I thought they would have given overalls or something. Rathbeggan had them, thats why I presumed.

Oh, I've never heard of an airsoft site giving out overalls before.
But I think its safe to assume you and your friends have clothes ;). Just avoid wearing bright clothing and make sure its comfortable. Boots are a huge plus.

Popping along to a local surplus store for a set of cammies for cheap is a good bet if you dont want to damage your clothes.

And a vital concern... get GOOD boots with ankle support. You WILL need them. Plus a lot of sites demand ankle supporting boots or no play.

as ive said before, every site has something different to offer the player and different games to challenge them...rathbeggan, red barn, fingal, hrta, hellfire are all great sites and will suit both the first timer and the experienced player..for milsim players ive heard great things about midlands airsoft club (hint hint haha :))...my advice is to try as many as you can and you'll soon find the site that you enjoy the most and suits your game style
