I dont know if ye can help but if ya can i would be greatful. I bought the dj io today and when i went to load it up it didnt recognise the unit...it downloaded the driver but it came up with error 000006 every time so it never completed set up. tried lowering the UAC settings when i got the unit and also changed the properties to make it compatable with windows vista before running the set up (on the driver)....totally lost now...dunno whats up...it boots up for a couple of seconds then fails. My own laptop is a dell xps 17 with 2.5ghz with 4 gb of ram. Do ye think i will have to revert back to vista or has anyone had this problem....thanks in advance

    gary

I have the Numark DJIO - and it works fine with my Windows 7, so it's definitely compatible. I had no issues whatsoever - did you follow the instructions? If I remember correctly - you have to install the drivers first, then plug it in through the USB when prompted during the install - did you follow those steps?

    Think you're right there.

Go to the device manager and uninstall the IO, disconnect it, insert disk. Install, connect when prompted, disconnect when prompted, reconnect.

OP, are you on 32 or 64?

I connatcted numark who said there is an issue with alot of windows 7 drivers...They are still testing but they imagine to have them up by the end of the month(on the website)....so hopefully this should solve the prob....i will try leathal bullets advice (and thanks) and install through device manager

Another thought, power. If the XPS is limiting the juice to the USB port that could cause issues. If you have a suitable power supply around give that a shot, but check the outputs first:)

well tried that and hooked it up to an external power supply and nothing...went into device manager and its recognizing the numark sound card but it wont download the driver.....have tried pretty much everything now jus gonna hav to wait for available downloads from numark....ill keep ye posted or else keep an eye on ebay for a cheap never used dj io...........:):) cheers lethal.... cds will have to do for the foreseeable future. bought the io to run the laptop off channels 2 and 3.... while havin the decks off1 and 2 ....less hassle than carrying all my cds about

Have you tried totally removing it from the system, then running the software install and plugging in the USB when it asks you to?

iv ran the uninstall....cleared whatever of the driver that was left in device manager or unknown device has it calls it...is there any other way of uninstalling it other than the uninstall on the cd rom or through the device manager. cheers joker......

Uninstalling it and unplugging it should be enough, then re-runing the install from the CD. If you're still having problems after that then yea, sounds like you'll have to wait for those drivers from Numark.

It's odd that mine works fine on Windows 7 though

Yea running ultimate as well. Real pain in the face with driver problems, been there with other stuff when Vista came out, thought 7 was supposed to have sorted it all.

Finally got it sorted......the prob was with a code 43 error on my usb hubs which wasnt recognizing the device...got lucky and found a fix online of deleting the host hubs and when ya reboot it automatically downloads the new updates....just thought id let ye know.......:)
